Blanch, NC – It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mrs. Mae Frances McCain Long 95, of 1907 Slade Rd. Blanch, NC, who passed Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at her residence.
She was a native of Caswell County, NC the daughter of the late Charlie McCain and Roxanna Johnson McCain, born May 23, 1922. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Missionary Circle, Kitchen Committee and attended Sunday school, Bible class, and willingly served wherever she was needed until her health began to fail.
She was married to Henry Clay Long and God blessed them with 18 children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Clay Long; three sons, Henry Jr., Willie James and John Lewis; one daughter, Annie Sue; seven brothers, Willie, Charlie James, Earnest, Paul, Dock Henry, Burnis and Harold ; one sister, Maggie M. Harrison.
Her survivors are eight daughters, Mary Robinson ( George ) of Charlotte, NC, Rose P. Smith ( Steven ) of Pelham, NC, Rev. Clara Pyles of Baltimore, MD, Dr. Margaret Graves ( Derrick ) of Brown Summit, NC, Min. Donna Morgan of Baltimore, MD., Dorothy Long of Plainfield, NJ, Deborah Williams of Mebane, NC and Shelia Lockhart ( Willard ) of Charlotte, NC; six sons, Roosevelt Long of Graham, NC, David Long ( Rev. Mary )of High Point, NC, Bobby Long ( Mary ) of Ruffin, NC, Min. Archie Long of Blanch, NC, Larry C. Long ( Catherine ) of Danville, Va. and Michael Long of Wilmington, NC; one sister-in-law, Alene McCain of Blanch, NC; a host of grandchildren; great grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; many relatives and friends.
