Reidsville, NC - It is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mrs. Dorothy " Dot" Rogers Graves of 3815 Stoney Creek School Rd.,who passed Tuesday, May 23, 2017 in the UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill, NC.
She was a native of Pender County, NC, the daughter of the late John Thomas Rogers and Carrie Boykins Rogers, born October 29, 1931. She was a member of Jones Cross Road Baptist Church , where she was a member of the usher board, missionary circle, senior choir, kitchen committee and served on the pastors aid committee.She was also a member of several organizations: Lifetime silver member of the NAACP Caswell County Branch, Worthy Matron of Locust Hill, past deputy of the Order Of Eastern Star #28 and a former member of the Order Of St. Luke.
She was preceded in the death by one brother, Harry Rogers; two sisters, Maggie Ford and Rosa Allison.
Her survivors are husband, Herman Graves; two daughters, Dorothy M. Long of New York, NY and Renisha Foster ( Dwayne ) of Greensboro, NC; one son, Elis Moore Jr. of Brooklyn, NY; three grandchildren, Bianca Bigelow, Davon Foster and Demikia Taylor ( William ); two great grandchildren, Deonte Bigelow and Jade Bigelow; three sisters, Mozelle Allison of Baltimore, Md, Levie Corbett of Green Level, NC, and Mary Davis of Graham, NC; one brother, John t. Roger ( Lesia ) of Burlington, NC. a host of other relatives and friends.
