Reidsville, NC - It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Deacon Jimmie Warn Pinnix 81, of 515 Brooks Road, Reidsville, NC, who died Friday, March 02, 2018 at the home in Reidsville, NC.

Jimmie was born a native of Rockingham County, NC on November 8, 1936 to the late Carlton Pinnix and Annie Russell Pinnix.

Jimmie graduated in 1956 at Booker T. Washington High School in Reidsville, NC. Prior to Jimmie's retirement, he was a supervisor for Lambert Construction company in Greensboro, NC, and Samuel Smith Construction in Eden, NC. Some of his favorite pastimes were listening and singing to gospel music, gardening, and visiting the sick, and shut in.

Jimmie accepted Christ, and joined Bold Springs Baptist Church, where his love continued to flourish for his church, family, and community as he fulfilled his calling as a Deacon. He also loved ushering God’s people in to the Lord’s house of worship by serving on the Usher Board and singing God’s praises as a member of the church male chorus. Jimmie was a man of strong convictions who was dedicated in serving God to the fullest and taking care of his family.

Jimmie married the love of his life Gillie Harris Pinnix on September 10, 1960.  To their union of 58 years, they had four beloved sons, Jimmie Lee, Rex, Gregory, and Patrick.

In addition to Jimmie’s parents, he was also preceded in death by his two sons, Patrick Valentino and Rex Desmond Pinnix, five sisters, Edna Flippin, Lillie Sue Pinnix, Lula McCollum, Daisy Neal, and Fannie Mae Miller and three brothers, Earnest, Elbert, and Johnnie Pinnix.

Deacon Jimmie Warn Pinnix leaves to cherish his memories to his: beloved wife Gillie (Polly) Harris Pinnix, and son Gregory Earl Pinnix of the home; eldest son, Jimmie Lee (Ernestine) Pinnix of Eden, NC; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; four sister-in-laws, Ruby Pinnix, Sarah Harris Simpson, and Rachael Harris all of Reidsville, NC, and Annie Harris Carver of Raleigh, NC; two brothers-in-laws, David K. (Betty) Harris of Greensboro, NC, and Eddie Joe Harris of Ruffin, NC; specials friends, Pastor Samuel (Mabel) Scales Jr. and Reverend Marvin (Vanessa) Nimmons, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, special neighbors, and a multitude of cherished friends.
