Yanceyville, NC – it is with profound sorrow we announce the death of Mrs. Alma Long Stokes of 1525 Main St. Suncrest Apt. 201 who died Friday, January 26, 2018 in the Annie Penn Memorial Hospital, Reidsville, NC.
She was a native of Caswell County, NC, the daughter of the late William Long and Charlotte Dodson Long, born February 27, 1933.
She was a member of New Zion Baptist Church and she was a employee of the Brian Center Nursing Facility in the housekeeping department before retirement.
She was married to O.N. Stokes who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Mitchell Stokes and Jerry Long; seven brothers, Joe Lewis Long, DePriest Long, Howard Long, Isiah Long, George Long, Jerome Long and Herbert Long; two sisters, Maude Lee Hedgepeth and Roberta Long Jeffers..
Her survivors are two sons, Owen Stokes ( Renee ) and Henry Stokes all of Yanceyville, NC; three daughters, Sharon Stokes Willis ( Lorenzo ) of Milton, NC, Elouise Stokes and Berthine Jeffers both of Yanceyville, NC; one sister, Catherine Moore ( Lawrence) of Blanch, NC; 11 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
